First Iconic Sign of its Kind in New York City’s Top Destination
Will Become the World’s Most Photographed Sign
The Bowtie, The Great White Way, and The Crossroads of the World are just a
few of the iconic names that have become synonymous with Times Square over the decades. But for all its history, all the lights and entertainment, the crowds and the fanfare, the one element missing from this eclectic landscape is an iconic sign to let the 500,000+ daily visitors know that they have “arrived”.
Hollywood has its own sign as does Las Vegas but shockingly there has never been an iconic sign for this, the greatest of all signage destinations.... until now.
On Thursday May 21st, Clear Channel Spectacolor introduced The Times Square Sign©. Located at 47th Street the sign stretches 150’ tall x 12’ wide as it soars 250 feet above the hustle and bustle of Broadway.
Along Broadway from Herald Square to as far North as 56th Street the classic double-sided “blade sign” has unparalleled viewing distances providing it with almost a mile of sight-lines - unlike any other sign location in Manhattan. The creative execution currently posted is a teaser and serves as a placeholder. Clear Channel Spectacolor has a “spectacular” concept developed which combines the use of state-of-art LED and traditional signage technology in a new and exciting way.
The spectacular concept is being unveiled on an exclusive basis to advertisers interested in sponsoring The Times Square Sign©. Sponsorship packages are available immediately and include various media options for a brand to chose from. |
